Etching/Rag Paper. 40x78cm Framed.
“I am compelled to combine my two creative energies of fine art and music. As music performance exists within the temporal and acoustic space, my recent works engage with creating a visual language, a type of notation, of my body’s response to music. This work is a 3-plate etching. Two of the plates are an investigation into sound waves, acoustics and the charts of my own levels of hearing from examinations. Overprinted onto this is a sound drawing, an emotional response to the act of listening to and thinking about music. The horizontal format references the way that music is experienced temporally, and can be read like one might read a score.” ~ Charlotte Fetherston, 2021
