“With tingling cheeks and finger tips” (from a poem by Christina Rossetti), 2020

Oil on canvas. 50x50cm
“The lily is regarded as the symbol of sublime love. In this case, the red flower (the Asiatic Lilium, “Original Love”) shows 6 quivering, pollen-dropping stamen, (male parts) dancing around the carpel (female parts) in the centre of the flower, just tingling in anticipation of the slightest touch to make pollination complete.”
