Storm Storm heading out to sea, 2021

Encaustic & Pigments on plyboard. 20x30cm
“This work is from a series icelebrating storms and coastal weather fluctuations. Ever since I was a child, I have loved storms and the clouds that build before a storm. The colours and the movement on the horizon at sea or on land has always been a huge fascination. The challenge with encaustic and pigments is to work quickly. You have one chance to make the entire piece work. I am inspired by other artists who have also painted turbulent skylines such as Turner, and Constable.” ~ Rachel Carroll 2021
